WORLD WATER SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS
Bulletin # 1
DATE AND PLACE
The 1997 Pilsen World Water Ski Championships will be held on Sept 15 - 21,
1997 at Medellin's Country Club (Club Campestre) in Llanogrande, located in
a beautiful region only 35 Kms. from Medellín and 5 Kms from the José María
Cordova International Airport.
CLIMATE
The site is located at 2.100 mts. above sea level and the temperature
ranges from 22 ºC during the day to 14 ºC during the night.
The country club house "Club Campestre" has excellent facilities for
officials, skiers and accompanying persons.
The artificial lake for the competitions is 650 mts. long and 80 mts. wide.
It is important to take into account that the World Water Ski Junior
Championships took place here in 1992, with excelent results. Two new World
Records were broken during such event.
INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS
To arrive by air to Medellín, there are direct flights from Panama, Miami
and New York, or connecting flights via Bogota, from the following cities:
Miami, New York, Los Angeles,
Mexico, London, Madrid, Paris, Frankfurt, Caracas, Lima, Quito, Rio de
Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Aruba, Curaçao, Guatemala, La Habana, Sao
Paulo and San Jose.
ACCOMODATIONS
For the comfort of the participants there are three hotels near the country
club (Club Campestre).
LAS LOMAS FORUM (five stars)
It is the Official Hotel for the World Championships. Located three
minutes from the Airport and 5 Kms. from the Club Campestre. The daily
rates are:
Single room US$ 130
Double room US$ 75 per person
Triple room US$ 60 per person
Above mentioned rates include breakfast. Tax not included.
LA HOSTERIA LLANOGRANDE
It has not only single rooms but small cottages. It is 3 Kms.
approximately from the Club Campestre. The daily rates are:
Single room US$ 100
Double room US$ 64 per person
Triple room US$ 54 per person
Accomodation for four people US$ 46 per person
Above mentioned rates include breakfast and tax.
EL RECINTO QUIRAMA
It is located at 15 minutes from the Club Campestre. The daily rates are:
Single room US$ 78
Double room US$ 58 per person
Triple room US$ 52 per person
Accomodation for four people US$ 45 per person
Above mentioned rates include breakfast. Tax not included.
