Largest Ever EAME Coaching Seminar in Minsk (BLR) The EAME Coaching Sub Commission held its 4th coaching seminar in Minsk from 1st - 4th April. Hosted by the Belarusian Water Ski Federation the four day seminar was held at the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture and the seminar was attended by 48 coaches from 8 countries. Amongst the coaches attending were many well known former and existing European and World champions now looking to further their coaching experience. With Russian the main language amongst those attending the seminar was run with live translation and a 2 screen presentation set up. A new exam format was also translated into Russian and involved live video commentary to emulate the coaching experience. EAME Coaching Sub Commission members John Wood (GBR) and Jean Michel Cau (FRA) conducted the four day seminar. "Conducting the seminar in 2 languages was a real challenge and required a lot of preparation, not least for Inessa Potes who translated all the presentations and exam" said John Wood. "The interchange of the western and eastern European approaches to coaching was fascinating as was the structure of training that has bought Eastern European success, particularly in tricks" Also welcome at the seminar was IWSF Group 3 coach Hiroshi Nakagava from Japan. 24 coaches passed the end of seminar exams to the EAME International Class standard. The EAME CSC is now looking towards its 2005 seminar. The policy is to rotate the venues round the EAME region so the next venue is likely to be Western Europe. Any countries interested in hosting the seminar should contact the EAME administrative offices.
