Des Burke-Kennedy conducted the ceremony that inducted William P. Barlow Jr. USA, Kim Izzard (Lampard) AUS, Mick Neville AUS, Andy Mapple OBE GBR, and Bilo Oliveras ESP into the IWWF Hall of Fame. The Ceremony was staged in Dubna's impressive Hall of Culture. The attendees were entertained by special program that included Russian costume folk dancing, a ballerina, singers and a dance troop.
A highlight of the evening was when Dick Cowell BWI, a contestant from the first World Championships in Jaun-Les-Pins, France in 1949, presented Chairman Burke-Kennedy with his original jacket with the collected emblems of the original water ski Federations.
