18Aug09 Tournament Council establishes new World Championships for age 35 and over
The Tournament Council has declared the Official name for these Championships as the World 35+ Water Ski Championships. The forerunner to this tournament has been held as the World Veterans Trophy. However, it is now officially established as a World Championships and will be held in Italy in 2010 in Segrate, Milan from September 6 - 12, 2010, together with the EAME Veterans Championships.
- There will be three divisions of competition as per the IWSF rules of ages 35-44,45-54, and 55 and over for men and women
- The qualification Rules will be published by the Tournament Council
- The Tournament Council will establish Ranking lists for skiers in these divisions to base individual qualification on similar to the World Championships
- World Records will be now established for these divisions on a similar basis to the World Junior Records in the records may only be established at the World 35+ Championships
