CASH PRIZE OF US$ 500,000 FOR 2005 WATERSKI & WAKEBOARD WORLD CUP

The successful 2004 global tour brought the sports of Waterski and Wakeboard to thousands of new spectators in unique downtown locations. These ranged from the Bedok Reservoir in Singapore to the Volga River in Russia, from the Qatar shores of the Arabian Gulf, to London, Paris and on to scenic Changshu in China.  With highlights delivered to the Media in 180 countries and a complete international TV series on Watersports World, the response was enormous.

At a time when sponsorship is a scarce commodity for many, the International Waterski Federation has found a novel way to beat the odds. Initially, by convincing Cities rather than corporate sponsors to participate in the Waterski and Wakeboard World Cup series, their full backing brings large audiences to downtown locations. This creates a perfect stage for exciting TV coverage.

The Cash Prize fund of half a million dollars will add to the challenge in 2005.
This year again, the locations are just as spectacular, the news distribution will be even greater and TV coverage will offer an opportunity to keep up with the action from Stop to Stop. The high visibility strategy has six critical elements – TV News Distribution, TV Magazine Shows, Host Broadcaster Programmes, Own Distribution, Live Feeds and global Press Release distribution.

The 2005 Stops declared so far include France, two visits to Russia, Ireland, Singapore and Qatar in the Arabian Gulf. Other Stops may yet be added. The International Waterski Federation is also greatly encouraged by the fact that already eight Cities have declared a wish to host a World Cup Stop in 2006.

With over 30 million active Waterski and Wakeboard participants in the World today, only the very best of 52,000 competitors can secure a place on the dock. This guarantees competition of the highest level. With the first Wakeboard Stop scheduled for Paris at Enghien-les-Bains on June 18/19, the action will continue all the way through to November 18/19 in Doha, Qatar.

MasterCraft, the official Tow Boat Sponsor, will provide the sophisticated environment-friendly equipment and support crew at all Stops. The Stop recordings and photos will be available free of charge to all broadcasters and media contacts.
