IWSF WAKEBOARD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

FIRST SHOT AND ALREADY A SUCCESS!

They came from all around the wakeboard planet to compete to the first wakeboard world championships. Nearly 20 countries and more than 120 riders were on the lake du Ponant this week end. (La Grande Motte - France) for this truly international event.

The water conditions and the weather were just perfect and the crowd enjoyed the show as well as the riders had a lot of fun. Huge boat, huge wake, huge ride and crazy sound. Tigé, towed the competition with a boat homologated for 12 people and especially dedicated to the sport and its life style.

In the open men division, Cobe Mikacih, made a mad run. He sticked all his tricks and proved without no doubt that he was the best. Nevertheless, the American didn't won. The Australian were the most constant and they won the team category.

The surprise came from Japan. A brother and a sister, named Mero and Dome Narita won two medals. Mero (12 years old) was the favourite of the audience. She took the first place in the open women category before Marie Botved, the European champion.
Her young brother Dome is not a lot taller than his board and he is already a champion. No one couldn't do anything to stop him from taking the lead.
